Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga Māori at Blue Mountain College

At Blue Mountain College, students have a range of opportunities to grow their understanding of Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori through language learning, cultural experiences, leadership opportunities, and community connections.

Our programme includes:

• Weekly Tikanga Time for all students to build knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Māori.
• Kapa Haka, where students learn karakia, waiata, mōteatea, and haka while developing confidence, cultural identity, and whakawhanaungatanga.
• Te Reo Māori classes for Years 7-8.
• Te Kura and NETNZ distance learning opportunities for Years 7-13 wishing to further extend their learning.
• Connections with our local Te Reo Māori Hāpori and Te Ahika Kapa 

Haka Hāpori, supporting lifelong learning within our community.
